Drive to $35 and Safe Staffing
A recent SEIU Healthcare poll showed that more than 60% of registered practical nurses (RPNs) in Ontario are considering leaving the profession due to low wages, short staffing and unsafe working conditions.
Instead of taking direct action, the Ford government and healthcare employers continue to turn a blind eye, doing nothing to address the nursing retention crisis and putting quality care for patients, residents and clients at risk.
SEIU Healthcare’s Nursing Division is fighting to ensure nursing jobs are good jobs, demanding a new minimum wage for Registered Practical Nurses of at least $35 per hour and safe staffing levels for all nurses.
We can only win by working together to drive our demands forward.
